Log In Help

In order to set or reset your password, you will need to log in to the SOLAR System. If you need assistance to do this, please find helpful instructions below. If you are still unable to to get access to your account, you may also call the Helpdesk at (800) 645-8350 or email them at helpdesk@baker.edu.

Before you begin any of these steps, you should have your Baker College ID card, known as the Baker @ccess card. This contains information you will need to complete any of the three tasks below.

Change my password

Get a username and password because I don't have one

Show my password hint because I forgot my password

 

How to Change Your Password

  1. Click SOLAR System at the top of any page of the Baker College Web site to access the SOLAR System Login Screen.
  2. Enter your Baker User ID OR your UIN OR your SSN in the appropriate field inside the area labeled Step One. You will only need to enter one of these fields, all three are not required to log in.
    Note: Your Baker User ID and UIN can be found on your schedule and your UIN can also be found on your Baker@ccess card.
  3. Enter your password inside the area labeled Step Two.
  4. Click the "Sign On" button to access the main page of the SOLAR System.
  5. Click the "Change Password" link located in the top left corner of the screen.
  6. In the "Enter A Password" field of the Change Password Screen, type a password of your own choosing, within the following guidelines:
    1. The password can not be more than 8 characters
    2. The password must include at least one number
    3. The password can not start with a number
    4. The password must contain at least 2 letters
       
  7. In the "Confirm Password" field of the Change Password Screen, retype the password you entered in the "Enter A Password" field.
  8. In the next field, type a hint that will help you remember your password.
    Note: Your hint cannot contain your password.
      
  9. Click the "Submit" button to save your new password and display the confirmation.
    Note: You can change your password at any time in the SOLAR System.
     
  10. Click the "View Account Information" link, located in the top left corner of your screen to view your account profile and other useful information, such as your Baker User ID.
  11. To log out, click the "Log Out" link in the left bottom corner of your screen.

To Get A Username and Password

  1. Click SOLAR System at the top of any page of the Baker College Web site to access the SOLAR System Login Screen.
     
  2. Click the "Need a Password" link shown in bold, red letters.
  3. On the "Need A Password" Screen, enter your social security number in the space provided.
    Note: If you do not have a social security number, you must call the Helpdesk at (800) 645-8350 to activate your account.
  4. Click the "Continue" button to proceed to the next "Need A Password" Screen.
  5. Enter your UIN from your Baker@ccess ID card.
     
  6. Enter your 14-digit library number from your Baker@ccess card.
     
  7. Click "Continue" to proceed to the next screen.
     
  8. Read the User Agreement Statement. You must agree to this statement to continue.
     
  9. Click the "Agree" button to proceed to the "Assign Password" Screen.
     
  10. In the "Enter A Password" field, type a password of your own choosing, within the following guidelines:
    1. The password can not be more than 8 characters
    2. The password must include at least one number
    3. The password can not start with a number
    4. The password must contain at least 2 letters
       
  11. In the "Confirm Password" field, retype the password you entered in the "Enter A Password" field.
      
  12. In the next field, type a hint that will help you remember your password.

  14. On the left side of the screen, enter your social security number in the SSN field inside the area labeled Step One.
  15. Enter the password you just created in the "Password" field of the area labeled Step Two.
  16. Click the "Sign On" button to access the main page of the SOLAR System.
  17. Click the "View Account Information" link, located in the top left corner of your screen, to view your account profile and other useful information, such as your Baker User ID.
  18. To log out, click the Log Out link on the left bottom corner of your screen.

To Show Your Password Hint

  1. Click SOLAR System at the top of any page of the Baker College Web site to access the SOLAR System Login Screen.
  2. Click the "Need a Password" link shown in bold, red letters.  
  3. Enter your social security number and click the "Continue" button to show your password hint.
    Note: If you do not have a social security number or you still cannot remember your password after viewing your password hint, you must call the Helpdesk at (800) 645-8350 to access your account.
  4. On the left side of the screen, if the SSN field has not already been auto-populated with your SSN (displayed as ********* ), enter your User ID OR your UIN OR your SSN inside the area labeled Step One.
  5. Enter your password in the area labeled Step Two.
  6. Click the "Sign On" button to access the main page of the SOLAR System.
  7. Click the "View Account Information" link, located in the top left corner of your screen, to view your account profile and other useful information, such as your Baker User ID.
  8. To log out, click the "Log Out" link on the left bottom corner of your screen.
